STUDIO POLICIES
KEYBOARD REQUIRMENTS
All students must have regular access to a properly functioning acoustic or digital piano that includes:
88 full-sized keys
Weighted or touch-sensitive keys
A working sustain pedal
This ensures students can practice effectively between lessons. If you need recommendations I am happy to guide you.
MATERIAL & BOOK RESPONSIBILITIES
Students are responsible for purchasing required books and materials for their lessons. I will recommend specific books based on your level and goals. You may be asked to purchase:
Lesson, theory, and technique books
Repertoire collections
Digital subscriptions (if applicable)
Please have your materials ready before your lesson to maximize our time together.
CANCELLATION & RESCEHDULING
48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson via the online booking system.
If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the lesson may be rescheduled within the same week only if time is available on my booking calendar.
To cancel within 48 hours, please text me directly.
If you’re running late, please text me. I’ll do my best to accommodate, but if it overlaps with the next student’s lesson, your session may be shortened.
If you’re more than 20 minutes late, the lesson will be forfeited or must be rescheduled within the same week (if space allows).
If you are on a monthly membership and need to take a leave longer than 2 weeks, I cannot guarantee your time slot unless you choose to continue paying monthly to hold it. Otherwise, you will need to moved to the à la carte system.
PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS
To make meaningful progress, students should aim to practice at least 4–5 days per week.
Beginners: 20–30 minutes per session
Intermediate: 30–45+ minutes per session
Consistency is more important than duration. I’ll help you structure your practice so that it’s realistic and productive.
PAYMENT
Lessons are paid in advance at the beginning of each month at your first lesson of the month.
Accepted payment methods: Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, and checks.
